Rakhi Sawant (born Neeru Bheda on 25 November[1] 1978[2][3]) is an Indian politician,[4] dancer, model, Hindi film and television actress & television talk show host, who has appeared in manyHindi and few Kannada, Marathi, Teluguand Tamil films. She was a contestant on Bigg Boss.[5]
Sawant had launched her own political party, the Rashtriya Aam Party to contest the 2014 Lok Sabha Elections.[6]However, after the election, she joinedRepublican Party of India (A).[7] Rakhi Sawant has often been in the news due to actions and statements that are deemed controversial in the Indian context.[8]
